Adella Pool, 79, of Creston, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at the EveryStep Hospice House in Creston.  Services will be 11 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston.  The family will receive friends Friday, November 15, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery Street, Creston, IA.  Adella will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, to be determined at future date.  Online condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.
Adella Ruth Pool was born in Nevinville, Iowa on June 25, 1940.  Adella was the only daughter born to Charles Martin and Helen Merle (Huffman) Britten.  Adella graduated from Richland High School with the Class of 1958.  She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Eugene Pool, on June 29, 1958 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenfield, Iowa.  Three children were born to bless their union, Shelley, Kelly and Becky.
Adella worked alongside Donnie on the farm, helping with any and all farm chores.  She was a devoted farm wife and homemaker to her husband and family.  Adella did work outside the home at various places in Creston, including Country Hearts for several years.  She also worked as a Switchboard Operator for the Nevinville phone company and always attended the different sporting events for her children and grandchildren.  Adella was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Elk’s Lodge  and volunteered many hours helping at the Re-Run Shop in Creston.  She also was a member of two different Breakfast Clubs and loved playing Bunco with her group of lady friends.
Adella had many hobbies including her love of reading, shopping and Facebook.  She enjoyed tending to her large vegetable and flower gardens, and camping at the Iowa State Fair and the Spencer Fair every year.  Adella was a wonderful cook and was known for her Maid Rite sandwiches and her Angel Food Cake.  Adella was very fond of decorating her home, inside and out, especially during the Christmas season.
Preceding Adella in death were her parents; her brother, Paul Britten; father-in-law, Vergil Pool and recently her mother-in-law, Marie Pool, on November 1, 2019; also several aunts and uncles.
Adella is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donnie Pool of Creston; her children: daughter, Shelley Carter of Creston; son, Kelly Pool of Orient, Iowa and daughter, Becky Pool of West Des Moines, Iowa; Adella loved and adored her 4 grandchildren:  Jared Carter, Tavian Rumple, Andrew (wife Ashley) Pool and Adam Pool; and her 3 great-grandchildren:  Rohm Carter, Adella Carter and Aiden Pool.  Adella will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
