Albert D. Miller

Albert Dale “Bert” Miller was born December 31, 1912 in Adams County, Iowa to Clyde and Florence (Maeder) Miller. Bert passed away on January 4, 2007 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital at the age of ninety-four. He was the fourth child in a family of eight children. Bert resided in Adams County and graduated from Cumberland High School. He farmed for a while with his father, worked for Eblen Construction driving heavy equipment and building roads, worked on the Fort Leonardwood, Missouri Site, then returned to Adams County where he farmed and raised his family.
Bert married Frances Doyle in 1937. To this union four sons were born: Dale, Tom, Rich and Pat. Following the death of Frances in 1981, Bert sold the farm and moved to Corning.
In 1983 Bert married Bernice Brown. They spent many joyous years traveling in their motor home. As long as their health permitted, they spent winters in Arizona.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Frances; son Dale; brothers Ray, Vern and Eldon Miller; sisters Dorothy Fuqua, Mary Smith and Alene Patterson; and great grandson, Jeremy Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Bernice Miller of Corning, Iowa; sons, Tom Miller and wife Marilyn of Ramsey, Minnesota; Rich Miller and wife Karen of The Dalles, Oregon; Pat Miller and wife Debbie of Fort Worth, Texas; three step children; Ron Brown and wife Norma of Prescott, Iowa; Carol Griffith and husband Ross of Brooks, Iowa; Janelle Wiese and husband Lyle of Prescott, Iowa; his sister Grace Wohlenhaus of Atlantic, Iowa; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
