Alice Freshour

August 22, 1933 — October 15, 2005

Alice Laurene (Fudge) Freshour, the daughter of Joseph Henry and Laura Imogene (Thomas) Fudge was born August 22, 1933 in rural Taylor County, Iowa. Alice entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the age of seventy-two years, one month and twenty-four days.
Alice attended country school at Jasper # 8 and Corning High School. On July 3, 1949 in Brooks, Iowa, she married Wayne Edward Freshour, to this union 6 children were born: Mark, Laurie, Tom, Becky, Joe and Shelly.
Wayne and Alice worked as farmhands for Bill Maas, Massena; Dick Talty, Kenneth Bunting of Corning;Gene Murphy and Paul Williams of Villisca; Carl Casey, Griswold; Dale Olson, Clarion; Merle Mayberry, Griswold; Deanne Breese, Nodaway until 1977. She moved to Corning after her husbands death, in December 1978 and worked at Sunset Motel, Mouse House, Lazy Ike, Burcliff Wire Craft, retiring in 1995 when Burcliff went to Mexico.
She was an avid bird watcher and was a member of the Audubon Society, enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, quilting and loved doll houses and made many items to place in the doll houses.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne in 1978; sister, Frieda Bowman; two brothers, Cecil and Virgi Fudge, sister-in-law, Audrey Fort; brothers-in-law, Robert Freshour; Max Fort, Loren Templeton, and Keith Bowman and Bob Law.
She is survived by her children: Mark (wife Diane) Freshour, Villisca, Iowa; Laurie Claytor, Creston, Iowa; Tom Freshour, Springfield, Missouri; Becky Watkins, Harlan, Iowa; Joseph Freshour, Georgetown, Texas, and Shelly (Miles, Jr)Cross, Mt. Etna; sister, Frances (Ted) Kurtenbach, Omaha, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Glenna Fudge Holdren, Harlan, Iowa; Wilma Freshour, Villisca, Iowa; Sharon Law, Corning, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, special friend, Ralph Hickman of Corning; Glenn Hickman, Julie Robertson, several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
