Alice Marie Cannell

Alice Marie Cannell, daughter of Lawrence and Alice (Morrison) Cullen, was born on May 8, 1917 near Cumberland, Iowa in Cass County. Marie entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Legacy Nursing Home in Bullhead City, Arizona at the age of ninety-two years, eleven months and twenty-nine days.
Marie graduated from Cumberland High School. After graduation, Marie moved to Colorado. Marie was united in marriage to Ed Cannell. The couple celebrated their thirty-eighth wedding anniversary before Ed passed away on September 7, 2004.
Over the years the couple lived in Washington, D.C. and Guam, for a short time, where Ed was a police officer and a military police officer. Marie was employed by the American Container Corporation in Ridgecrest, California as a bookkeeper for many years. After Marie’s retirement in 1997 the couple moved to Laughlin, Nevada.
Marie loved to host dinner parties and entertain.
Left to cherish Marie’s memory is her caretaker and guardian Angel, David Magnuson of Bullhead City, Arizona; brothers: Richard (wife Elnora) Cullen of Greenfield, Iowa, William (wife Mary Jean) Cullen of Denison, Iowa; sister-in-law, Phyllis Cullen of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Cannell; brother, Robert Cullen; sisters: Margaret (husband Ivan) Bissell, Berniece (husband Hugh) Anstey and Marjorie (husband Cecil) Calkins.
