Amos Daub

Amos James Daub, Jr., the son of Amos James and Anna Marie (Jones) Daub, was born on June 11, 1921, near Thayer in Clarke County, Iowa. Junior entered eternal rest at the Creston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Creston, Iowa, on May 25, 2007, at the age of eighty-five years, eleven months and fourteen days.
Junior served in the United States Army during World War II from October 1942 to November 1945. He was injured in Omsbrick, Austria when the army truck he was driving sustained a brake failure and he went over an embankment. His decorations and citations included European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Battle Star, World War II Victory Ribbon, Service Stripe and Overseas Service Bar, American Theatre Ribbon, and the Purple Heart.
Junior lived in Union County most of his life and also spent a few years in Texas. Junior had farmed during his early years, but spent most of his life as a truck driver. Junior moved to Clarinda and worked at the Hoover Ball Bearing Company for several years before retiring and returning to Creston.
Left to mourn Juniors passing is his sister: Mary Sheesley, Des Moines; several nieces: Marietta Anderson, Des Moines; Velma(George) Peters, Des Moines; Vivian Sheesley, Des Moines; Shirley Beedle, Des Moines; Beverly (Jerry) Koenen, Creston; Diana Daub, Coralville, IA; and Connie Daub of Texas; several Great-nieces and Great-nephews; and Good Friend: Roy Waddell and family.
Preceding Junior in death were his parents; three Brothers: Murel Daub, Floyd Daub, and Kenneth Daub; a Sister: Lavenna Calvin, and Great-Niece: Jackie Scadden who had served as his caretaker for the past few years.
