Betty Cheers

Betty Lou Cheers, the daughter of LeRoy Eugene and Anna Viola (Cornelison) Barton, was born on July 16, 1939, in rural Afton, Union County, Iowa. Betty entered eternal rest on June 5, 2010, at the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center, Creston, Iowa, at the age of seventy years, ten months, and twenty days.
Betty attended school in Afton, Arispe and Creston and lived the majority of her life in Creston. Betty married Herman Wayne Fry and they later divorced. Four children were born to this union. In December, 1973 she married Donald Wayne Cheers in Greeley, Colorado.
Betty was a homemaker. She also worked at Purolator and Hills McCanna, which later became Wellman Dynamics, for a few years. She loved to sew and was a wonderful seamstress. She also loved gardening and canning her produce.
Left to cherish Bettys memory are her husband: Donald Cheers, Creston; her Children: Vicki (Gerry) Abell, Rural Lenox, IA; Mike Fry (and friend Jennifer), Creston; and Peggy Kingery, Creston; her daughter-in-law: Jaye Fry, Creston; Six Grandchildren: Brandon and Charles Fry; Dawn Madison and Dustie Burton; Jessi Outhoudt and Adam Goodvin; Six Great-Grandchildren; her Sister: Retha Dorsey, Greeley, CO; her Sister-in-Law: Juanita Barton, Greeley, CO; her Nephew: LeRoy Barton, Jr., Denver; and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Betty in death were her parents; her first husband, Herman Fry; her son: Bob Fry; and her brothers: Harley, Kenny and Eddie Barton.
