Betty J. (Perkins) Alley, 78, of Creston passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Creston Nursing and Rehab Center, Creston. Private Family Graveside Services are planned at Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton. Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston is assisting with the arrangements. Betty Jean Alley, daughter of Roy Bruce and Beulah Josephine (Marler) Perkins, was born on April 1, 1936 on a farm, east of Arispe. Betty graduated from Arispe High School with the Class of 1954. On June 9, 1963 she married Fred Victor Alley in Grant City, Missouri. Betty worked for Meredith out of High School, then Creston Laundry. Betty was a bookkeeper for Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Creston for about six years. Betty was a homemaker. Betty and Fred wintered in Texas for four years.
Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Afton.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory is her husband, Fred Alley, Creston; her children: Monty Alley, Greenfield, Connie (Derek) Thompson, Creston; and Ted (Cindy) Alley, Afton; her step-children: Donna (Andy) King, Gold Canyon, AZ; and Scott (Debbie) Alley, Slater, IA; Seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother: Harris (Eva) Perkins, Creston; her sister: Patty (Dale) Haight, Mt. Ayr, IA; and her sister-in-law: Vanita Perkins, Kerrville, TX.
Preceding Betty in death were her parents; and her brother Carl Perkins.
