Beverly J. Emhoff, 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado formerly of rural Creston, was called home to be with our Lord on June 15, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 21 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Local Graveside Services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 26 at Calvary Cemetery, Creston. Father Kenneth Halbur, Jr. will officiate. Open Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 25, at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening and Rosary will be said at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Dominic Catholic Church in Beverly’s memory. On-line condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.
Beverly Jean Swab was born in Des Moines, Iowa on September 21, 1933 to Mathew A. Swab and Tina C. (Kovacevich) Swab.
Beverly married Harold Eugene Emhoff on September 15, 1951. They lived and farmed in rural Creston, Iowa for many years. They had two children, Richard Lee “Dick” and Deborah Ann “Debbie”. Beverly worked for several years at the Creston News Advertiser and as a homemaker.
Beverly and Harold moved to Widefield, Colorado in 1982 where she worked for American Family Insurance and Widefield Insurance Agency as well as being a homemaker. Her hobby of sewing has been admired by many as she made custom wedding and bridal party dresses, formals, etc. She also enjoyed cross-stitch and knitting.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Tina Swab, husband Harold in 1995, and son Richard “Dick” in 1975.
Survivors include her daughter Debbie (Lloyd Smith) Dresback of Widefield, Colorado, her brother John (Rene) Swab of Rochester, New York and sister Kathy (Alan) Austin of Afton, Iowa. Grandsons, Craig (Winter Taylor) Dresback of Birmingham, Iowa and Brian Dresback of Des Moines, Iowa. Great-grandchildren Lehdyn, Makenna, and Edwin all of Birmingham, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Beverly will be dearly missed.
