Carol Oneill

March 2, 1936 — November 22, 2012

Carol Fannie (Bixler) ONeill was born to Carl Kenneth and Mabel Belle (Day) Bixler on March 2, 1936 at their home six miles west of Corning, Iowa. Carol entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the Midland Living Center in Councils Bluffs, Iowa at the age of seventy-six years, eight months and twenty days.
Carol attended Highland Country School for eight years and graduated from Corning High School in 1953. Carol then attended Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha University in Omaha. It was during her college years when she met Jimmie L. ONeill. The couple was united in marriage on August 25, 1957, at the Highland Church, after Carol received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
Six children were born to bless this union: Jerry, Terry, Pat, Jonathan, Jennifer and William.
The couple moved near Corning in 1961. Jim farmed and Carol began her nursing career working at Rosary Hospital. Later, Carol was the School Nurse for the Corning Public Schools, worked at Colonial Manor, was the Adams County RN and also worked at the Clarinda Mental Hospital for more than 20 years.
Left to cherish Carols memory are her children: Jerry ONeill of Corning, IA, Terry (Yvette) ONeill of Villisca, IA, Pat ONeill of Underwood, IA, Johnathan (Sarah) ONeill of Omaha, NE, Jennifer (Scott) Henry of Council Bluffs, IA, William ONeill of Corning, IA; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous cousins and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim ONeill on October 24, 2012 and brother, Sam Bixler.
