Carolyn Jean Kaster, the daughter of Glen H. and Lucille W. (Allen) Higgins, was born on June 24, 1943, at Creston, Iowa. Carolyn entered eternal rest on February 11, 2010, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston, Iowa, at the age of sixty-six years, seven months, and twenty days.
Carolyn J. Kaster was born and raised in Creston and graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1961. Carolyn moved away for six years, returning in October, 1968. On May 31, 1974, she married Richard “Dick” J. Kaster at Creston. Carolyn worked at Bunn-O-Matic for twenty years before retiring on January 4, 1999, due to ill health.
Carolyn was a member of the Eagles Lodge #1398 of Creston. She was baptized as a young girl into the Christian Church. Her interests included reading and crossword puzzles, and watching golf on television. She enjoyed camping and loved visiting with her family and friends.
Left to cherish Carolyns memory are her husband: Richard “Dick” Kaster, Creston; her sons: Gene (wife Dawn) Christensen, Afton; and Bob (wife Karen) Christensen, Diagonal; her step-sons: Rick Kaster, West Des Moines; and Perry Kaster, West Des Moines; her step-daughters: Teri (husband Bill) Serdahl, Oquawka, IL; and Tammy (husband Dan) Terrebonne, Des Moines; Thirteen Grandchildren; Ten Great-Grandchildren; her Brother: Glen D. Higgins, Creston; Two nephews: Ronnie Higgins, Creston; and Robbie Higgins, Michigan; and one great-niece: Morgan Higgins, Creston.
Preceding Carolyn in death were her Parents; Grandparents; an infant niece, Christie at birth; and several aunts and uncles.
