Cecil Moffitt

Cecil Eugene Moffitt, the son of True and Marie (Hudson) Moffitt, was born March 19, 1926, at Lorimor, Iowa. Cecil entered eternal rest September 17, 2009 at Greater Regional Medical Center, Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-three years.
Cecil graduated from Loimor High School with the Class of 1946. He served in the United States Army from January 23, 1952 until January 22, 1954.
On June 7, 1952, Cecil married JoAnn Repplinger at Creston, Iowa. Two children were born to bless this union, Cynthia and Michael.
Cecil was raised in the Lorimor area. When he returned from the service, he lived west of Cromwell for one year and then he purchased his current farm in 1955. Cecil farmed his entire life except for the two years he was in the service. He raised hogs and cattle and practiced conservation farming. Cecil was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a former member of the Elks Lodge in Creston.
Left to cherish Cecils memory are his wife JoAnn Moffitt, Creston; his daughter, Cynthia Moffitt, Anchorage, Alaska; his son, Michael (wife Judith) Moffitt, Creston; Two Grandchildren: Brett Jerome Moffitt, Kansas City, Missouri and Madeline Marie Moffitt of Ames; his sister-in-law, Opal Moffitt, Thayer; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Cecil in death were his parents, and two brothers: James and Carl Moffitt.
