Charles Lomicka

No visitation is planned. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Creston, Iowa, with Military Honors by Theodore J. Martens VFW Post #1797. Memorials may be made in Charlies name.
Charles Michael Lomicka, the son of Charles Henry and Anna Marie (Sklenar) Lomicka, was born on March 21, 1921, at Creston, Iowa. Charlie entered eternal rest on June 7, 2008, at the Creston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-seven years, two months, and nineteen days.
Charlie attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School. He served in the United States Navy. Charlie married Phyllis Ann Ethington. They were married for twenty-eight years and two daughters were born to this union, Cheryl and Lynn. Charlie then married Pearlie Anderson in February of 1982. Pearlie preceded Charlie in death in March, 1992.
Charlie lived in Creston all of his life. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for over forty years until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the American Legion.
Left to cherish Charlies memory are his Daughters: Cheryl Eblen, Creston; Lynn Swanson, Creston; Four Grandchildren: Lorie (Todd) Woodard, Amy (Brian) Van Scoy, Christine Sherrod, Michael Swanson; Nine Great-Grandchildren; Step-Daughters: Lori Westcott, Creston; Beth Sievers, Des Moines; Step-Sons: Dean Anderson, Illinois; Tom Anderson, Kentucky; Several Step-Grandchildren and Step-Great Grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Charlie in death were his Parents, Wife: Pearlie; Two Sisters: Mary Agnes McKee and Lucille Anthenill; and Son-in-Law: Jerry Eblen.
