Charlotte E. Jones

Charlotte Elizabeth Jones, the daughter of Sewell and Mary Elizabeth (Rogers) McGregor, was born on March 18, 1924, near Prescott, Iowa. Charlotte entered eternal rest on February 9, 2008, at Manor Care in Des Moines at the age of eighty-three years, ten months, and twenty-three days.
Charlotte graduated from Prescott High School and from Creston Junior College. On June 23, 1945, Charlotte married Keith R. Jones of Murray, Iowa, at Camp Walters, Texas. They celebrated 56 years together.
Charlotte fulfilled her childhood dreams by teaching second and third grades in Murray, Osceola and Prescott. Her life work was being a homemaker and mother to her three children.
Charlotte was a member of the Jordan Creek United Methodist Church and a former member of the Prescott and Creston United Methodist Churches. Through the years, she was an assistant 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher, WSCS President of the Prescott United Methodist Church and a member of the Morning Circle at the Creston United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Creston Chautauqua Club, Prescott Story Hour Club and many other neighborhood groups. Her hobbies included making quilts for her family. She enjoyed talking with friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Cathleen (husband Larry) McAlexander, Treynor, IA; her sons, William (wife Pamela) Jones, Milford, MA; and Michael (wife Linda) Jones, West Des Moines, IA; seven Grandchildren; and six Great-Grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Coral Jones of Altoona; a niece, two nephews and many other relatives.
Preceding Charlotte in death were her parents; her husband, Keith in 2002; Granddaughter: Cory Jones; Two Brothers: Billy and Charles McGregor; Brother-in-law: Boyd Jones; and one nephew, Pat Jones. Her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved and adored will miss her.
