Claudine Boyer was born in Taylor County, Iowa, May 22, 1921 at the home of her parents, Claude Ray and Ethel May (Hill) Swartz, and was raised in the Lenox area. Claudine entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 10th, 2008 at the age of eighty-six years and eleven months.
She was united in marriage to Willard Elroy “Bill” Boyer on May 22, 1938 near Lenox, Iowa. They made their home in Conway from 1946-1951, Gravity from 1952-1971 and Corning from 1996-2008. To that blessed union, three children were born: Ray, Barbara and Linda.
Claudine was a homemaker and mother throughout her life. She also worked at the grocery store in Gravity, as a cook at the Main Street Cafe in Bedford and as janitor for the Lenox Public Schools.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Lenox, Iowa.
Her passions were reading, sewing, cooking, entertaining and having the great-grandchildren visit her after school. She had a strong work ethic and stayed busy at all times. She will be truly missed.
Claudine is survived by her son, Ray (wife Sandra) Boyer, Dallas Center, Iowa; daughters: Barbara (husband Duane) Harms, Brookings, South Dakota, Linda (husband Richard) Nicholson, Corning, Iowa; nephew, Larry (wife Diane) Swartz, Early, Iowa; brother-in-law, Marvin “Wig” (wife Betty) Boyer, Clearfield, Iowa; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill in 1996; brother, Lloyd Swartz in 2002; son-in-law, Ronnie R. Reed in 1993; daughter-in-law, Denise Boyer in 1997.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Christian Church in Lenox, Iowa.
