Cleo Mccuen

Cleo Verda McCuen, daughter of Guy William and Lottie Lucille (Ridnour) Inman, was born on Tuesday, May 10, 1938 in Adams County, Iowa. Cleo passed away on Friday, December 10, 2010 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of seventy-two years, seven months and two days.
Cleo attended country school in Adams County and obtained her G.E.D. at Southwest Community College in Creston. On August 22, 1956 Cleo was united in marriage to Leland Ray McCuen in Nodaway, Iowa and two children were born to bless this union: LeRoy and Lucille. Together the couple farmed and raised their family north of Corning. Leland passed away on February 11, 1997.
Cleo loved singing and dancing and attended numerous jamborees over the years. She performed significant duties and helped organize dances at the Chicken Inn in Creston. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed musicals and playing cards. Cleo’s favorite pass-time was spending time with her family and friends. She was particularly proud of her grandchildren and attended many sporting events.
Left to cherish Cleo’s memory is her significant other, Steve Hamilton of Lenox, Iowa, son, LeRoy (wife Debbie) McCuen of Corning, Iowa; daughter, Lucille McCuen of Shelby, Iowa; grandchildren: Brooke (husband Nathan) Bradley of Muscatine, Iowa, Blaire McCuen of Evergreen, Colorado, Brant McCuen of Corning, Iowa; great-granddaughter, Avery Bradley of Muscatine, Iowa; sister, Leona (husband Walter) Veatch of Prescott, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland Ray McCuen; sisters: Lola Brokaw (brother-in-law Walter) and Macy Inman; brother, Raymond Inman.
