Dailey Emogene Allison, daughter of David and Geneva (Westfall) Johnston, was born on February 9, 1921 at her parents farm one mile north of Mt. Etna, in Adams County, Iowa. Dailey entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Corning Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of ninety-two years and one day.
Dailey attended the same rural school for eight years and continued on to Corning High School where she graduated with the class of 1938. After graduation, Dailey pursued her teaching career and obtained her teaching certificate from the two-year elementary course at Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa) in Cedar Falls. Dailey returned to Adams County and taught in rural schools and in Cromwell, Bedford and Corning. Dailey took great pride in becoming a 4-H leader for five years in Washington Township.
On August 12, 1951, Dailey was united in marriage to Darrel Ira Allison at the Mt. Etna Church of the Brethren and three children were born to bless this union: Delores June, Douglas Darrel and Deanna Kay.
The couple started their lives together on a farm seven miles north of Corning where they lived most of their adult life. Dailey was a homemaker during her married life where she supported Darrels love of the land and farming. The couple was long-time members of the Mt. Etna Church of the Brethren and they both held many offices over the years. Dailey was also a member of the Friendship Club, Farm Bureau, Ladies Aide and the See Do Club at the Mt. Etna Church of the Brethren.
Dailey cherished her family and enjoyed every moment with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was an inspiration to her husband Darrel who preceded her in death on September 13, 2012.
Left to cherish Daileys memory is her daughter, Delores and her husband Randall Ramsey of Corning, Iowa; son, Doug and his wife Lisa Allison of Corning, Iowa; daughter, Deanna and her husband Howard Anderson of Nodaway, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Sheila) Ramsey, Nathan (Chelsea) Ramsey, Betsy (David) Stormer, Amber (Andrew) Tye, Emily Anderson, Blake Anderson, Ryan Allison; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Naomi Johnston of Des Moines, Iowa; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
