Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with Military Honors by Theodore J. Martens VFW Post #1797. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Dale Floyd Keating, the son of Floyd and Elsie May (Sprinkle) Keating, was born on July 16, 1922 at Creston, Iowa. Dale entered eternal rest on December 13, 2009, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-seven years and five months.
Dale attended Creston Public Schools and graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1941. He also attended school in Council Bluffs, Iowa. On November 21, 1941, he married Dorothy May Higgins at Creston. Dale served in the United States Army during World War II from November 10, 1942 until February 5, 1946.
Dale lived in Creston most of his life. Dale began working as a mechanic when he returned from his military service, beginning with Carlisle Motors. He also worked as a mechanic for Davis Auto and he worked twenty five years as shop foreman at M M Motors. Dale retired at age 65 in 1987. Dale was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He served as a church elder for many years and was Superintendant of the Sunday School Program for several years.
Left to cherish Dales memory are his Daughter: Nancy (husband Norm) Cottrell, Creston; his Son: Gary (wife Joyce) Keating, Winthrop, Iowa; Five Grandchildren; Six Great-Grandchildren; Two Step-Great Grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Dale in death were his Parents; Wife in January, 2005; Infant Son: Dale Dean Keating; Brother: Glen Keating; and Two Sisters: Doris White and Thelma Minor.
