Dallas H. Hickman

Dallas Hugh Hickman, the son of Loten and Hattie (Thompson) Hickman, was born February 24, 1927 in Mt. Etna, Iowa. Dallas entered eternal rest on Friday, November 17, 2006 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of 79 years, eight months and twenty-three days.
Dallas attended Mt. Etna Country School and graduated from Corning High School with the Class of 1944. On October 10, 1952, Dallas and Donna Smith were united in marriage at the Methodist Church in Corning. Three sons were born to bless this union: Rick, Randy and Kenneth. Dallas and Donna were fortunate to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2002.
Farming was Dallas life. He lived on the same farm since he was two years old, a total of 77 years. Dallas liked to go hunting and fishing. He loved to be outdoors especially fishing with his grandchildren. Dallas also followed his sons and grandsons during their high school wrestling years. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include Dallas wife, Donna of Mt. Etna, Iowa; his three sons: Rick (wife, Lynn) of Melbourne, Iowa, Randy (wife, Vicki) of Winterset, Iowa and Kenneth (friend, Mark Watson) of Des Moines, Iowa. Dallas is also survived by four grandchildren: Brian, Trevor, Jessica and Tara; four great-grandchildren: Alexis, Mercedes, Seth and Paige; by his sister-in-law, Phyllis Armstrong of Corning and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; by his brother, Kenneth; a half-brother, Leland Fisher; two half-sisters: Neta Davis and Ruby Newbury; three sisters-in-law: Maybelle Dueling, Mary Yearington, Beverly Snyder; two brothers-in-law: Ronald Smith and Paul Swain; and by a niece, Kay Hayes.
