Daniel Edward Lowery, 77 of Corning, Iowa went to be with the Lord January 9, 2015 at CHI Mercy Hospital in Corning. Daniel was born January 9, 1938 in Barberton, Ohio to John Edward and Grace Helen (Eckroate) Lowery. He attended Barberton local schools until Christmas break in 1955 when he joined the U.S.A.F. He entered basic training February 17, 1956. Daniel had a memorable career as an air craft mechanic as well as a C141A/B flight engineer. He had the opportunity to see the world while in the U.S.A.F. He had traveled to the Middle East, Japan and Africa and too many others to list. Daniel retired from active duty in 1984 completing 26 ½ years of dedicated service to his country.
Daniel enjoyed long trips on his motorcycle. He loved his dedicated companion, bassett hound Itchy Kay. Daniel was a very generous person giving donations to many organizations.
Daniel was a member of the Venturers Motorcycle Club; Creston Christian Motorcycle Assoc.; lifetime member of the VFW in Altus, Oklahoma; and attended The Calvary Chapel in Clarinda, Iowa.
Daniel is survived by his sisters: Nellie McEndree of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Nancy Etheridge
(husband Bill Williams) of Lenox, Iowa; sister-in-law Mary Ann Lowery, Ft. Worth, Texas; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; brother John Otto Lowery; sisters; Mary Catherine Lowery and Barbara Ellen Lowery; brothers-in-law Louise Etheridge and Vernon McEndree.
