David C. Ossian

Family will receive friends from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM Sunday evening, December 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Military Honors by Theodore J. Martens Post #1797. Memorials may be directed to the family in Davids name.
David Carlyle Ossian was born to Martell Althea (Ringberg) and Carl Gustaf Desmond Ossian on February 16, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa. David entered eternal rest on November 30, 2006, at his home in Creston, Iowa, at the age of sixty-nine years, nine months, and fourteen days.
David served in the United States Army from 1956-1957 during the Korean Conflict. On June 3, 1958, David married Lucille A. Miller at Creston, Iowa. To this union five children were born: Jeffery Desmond, Annette Marie, Terrie Martell, Michelle Renee and Brenda Carol.
David lived in Creston his entire life. David farmed north of Creston in Union County. He worked at Purolator for several years until its closing. David also worked for the City of Creston until his health declined. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War Theodore J. Martens Post #1797 and the Salem Lutheran Church.
Left to mourn Davids passing are his daughters: Annette (husband David) Balius, Rosendale, MO; Terrie (husband Tannie) Abell, Creston; Michelle “Misty” (husband Mike) Crigger, Creston; Brenda (husband Richard) Slight, Creston; Nine Grandchildren; Four Step-Grandchildren; and Four Great-Grandchildren; his Brother: Darwin (Frankie) Ossian, Jasper, Alabama; and his sister: Pat (Ralph) Lane, Greenfield, Iowa.
Preceding David in death were his parents; his Wife, Lucille in 2005; and Son, Jeff Ossian in 1982.
