David Wilkins

David Jeffery Wilkins, the son of Harold Delose Wilkins and Ardiss Pearl (Bartine) Shill, was born on February 18, 1960, in Marshalltown, Iowa. David entered eternal rest on October 26, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of fifty years, eight months, and eight days.
David graduated from Ackley-Geneva High School. After graduation, David served in the United States Army from 1979 until 1982; then he served in Afghanistan with the National Guard. David received the Army Service Ribbon; and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
David lived in Des Moines for many years before moving to Creston about four years ago. David was a chef. He cooked at the Hope Ministries in Des Moines. He also worked at Walmart and Farley Sathers Candy Company (Gummi Bears) while living in Creston. He loved to cook, fish and watch the Iowa Hawkeyes play football and basketball.
Left to cherish Davids memory are his significant other: Jackie Loomis, Creston; his sons: Eric Robbins, Ankeny; Xan and Zeb Wilkins, Boone; his daughter: Rachel Tucker, Creston; his grandchildren: Cameron Tucker, and Sophia Tucker; and his brothers: John (wife Barb) Wilkins, Norwalk; Todd Shill, Grinnell; and Shawn Shill.
Preceding David in death were his parents; his brother, Jerry Wilkins; his sister, Jill Enslin, his step-father, Fred Shill.
