There will be a luncheon, following the service, at the Corning Community Building.
Inurnment will be at 3:00PM, on Saturday, at the Clarinda City Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Adams County Rescue and/or Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.
DeLoy Towne, son of W. Howard and Doris Mildred (Shaffer) Towne was born Red Oak, Iowa on June 10, 1954. DeLoy entered eternal rest on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of fifty-five years and twenty-four days.
DeLoy was a graduate of Red Oak High School with the class of 1972. Throughout high school, DeLoy worked at an oil station in Red Oak. After graduation, DeLoy worked as a mechanic, truck driver, water well rigger for oil wells in Oklahoma and also worked for various farmers, residing in Shenandoah, Iowa, Winfield, Kansas and some time in Oklahoma. Later, he was employed by Richard Hogan and Raymond Moore Implement in Corning when he moved to the Corning area 11 years ago.
DeLoy was united in marriage to Gail Marie Humphrey on March 9, 2002 at Brooks United Methodist Church.
DeLoys hobbies included fishing, restoring antique tractors and attending antique tractor shows and golf. He volunteered at the Adams County Fair and the Antique Expo. DeLoy was a member of the K O Antique Tractor Association in Kansas and Oklahoma.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gail Towne of Corning, Iowa; mother, Doris Towne of Corning, Iowa; mother-in-law, Neva Humphrey of Clarinda, Iowa; brother, Chester (wife JoAnn) Towne of Cumberland, Iowa; sister, Wanda (husband Lonnie) Hughes Jr. of Stuart, Iowa; nieces: Julie, Tammy and Billie Jo; nephew, Doug and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
DeLoy was preceded in death by his father, W. Howard Towne in 1986; father-in-law, Don Humphrey in 2006; maternal and paternal grandparents; baby sister at birth; several aunts uncles and other relatives.
