Dennis Castillo

Dennis Castillo, the son of John and Theara Irene (Miller) Castillo, was born on February 12, 1946, at Iowa City, Iowa. Dennis entered eternal rest on May 27, 2008 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of sixty-two years.
Dennis attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1966. He attended Southwestern Community College for about one year. On November 26, 1966, Dennis married Linda Susan Allen at Creston, Iowa. Three children were born to bless this union.
Dennis worked construction after high school, then he worked at Purolator from 1966 until it closed. Later, he owned Creston Scrap Iron and Metal until 1983. Dennis worked as custodian for the Union County Courthouse from 1983-1989, then from 1989-2007, he was an equipment operator for the Iowa D.O.T. He retired on March 31, 2007. Dennis was still operating his business of hauling scrap iron until the time of his death.
Dennis was a member of Crestmoor Golf Club. Dennis was a major part of beginning the renovation of the old Post Office (now the home of Maple Street Memories). He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife and family and he also sold books on the internet. Dennis was an amazing father and grandfather and will be missed greatly by his family.

Preceding Dennis in death were his Parents; his Father-in-Law: Phil Allen; his Step-Father: Jack Long; his Twin Brother: Russell Castillo; and his Brother-in-Law: Jerry Allen.
