Diana Loomis

Diana Loomis, 78 of Creston, Iowa passed away at her home Thursday, April 27, 2023. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be on Sunday, June 18, 2023, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at The Pantry Event Center in Creston.

Diana Ruth Kirkpatrick was born February 10, 1945 in Creston to Dwight L. and Anna Irene (Peairs) Kirkpatrick. She was raised in Creston and graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1963. Diana then began working at Greater Regional Health as a Ward Secretary for 5 years then finished her 37 year career as a Certified Operating Room Technician.

A fiercely independent woman, she was determined to conquer any challenge given to her, whether it be her own health issues or caring for those in need. Diana’s family was her pride and joy in life. Her quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Boyd (Doris) and Jerry Kirkpatrick; sisters: Carol Wynn (Jack) and Colleen Brotherton (Richard); nephews: Bill Kirkpatrick and Randy Jay; and her mother-in-law, Bobbi Loomis and father-in-law, Lee Loomis.

Mourning her passing are daughters: Dana Loomis of Elk Horn, Iowa, Sarah Thelen of Creston, Iowa, Michal (Russell) Thompson of Orient, Iowa and Jenny Eyerly of Winterset, Iowa; 12 grandchildren: Steffenie (Brian) Roach, Matthew Brown, Patrick (Jordyn) Brown, Daniel Brown, Kyle (Brittney) Thelen, Maggie (Jake) McGehee, Brooke (David) Greiner, Hunter Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Jessie (Reid) Leichty, Molly Eyerly and Austin Eyerly; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward (Barb) Kirkpatrick of Newport News, Virginia; her sister, Lois (husband Bill) Jay of Creston, Iowa; her sister-in-law, Nina Kirkpatrick of Creston, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and dear friend, Alice Reed of Prescott, Iowa.
