Diana Price, 50, of Creston, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, January 26, 2013, following complications of pneumonia, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 1:30 P.M., Saturday, February 2, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Creston. Officiates will be Pastor Phil Price, Pastor Randy Morgan and Pastor Dan Fields. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Open visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2013 from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. with family present from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Diana’s name. On-line condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.
Diana Lynn (Piel) Price, daughter of Ronald and Marlene (Fosse) Piel, was born August 9, 1962, in Creston, Iowa. Di graduated from high school in Creston in 1981. After graduation, Di worked at Creston Manor Nursing Home until 1983. She then worked nearly 30 years at Bunn-O-Matic Corporation in various departments.
On July 20th, 1985, Di married Philip W. Price. They were happily married for 28 years. Together they had 2 daughters, Erica (1988) and Danielle (1992).
Di enjoyed life with Phil, raising her daughters, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her work, co-workers, and many friends. Di found happiness in life helping others and seeing their positives. Di enjoyed many years volunteering for Crest Jubilee, Reading Buddies at Creston Elementary, Church functions, and community services. She was an active member of Orient Plymouth Congregational Church serving in many capacities. Di always loved traveling throughout the U.S., Mexico, and this spring in Europe.
Di is survived by her husband, Phil Price of Creston; daughter, Erica (husband Ben) Clear, and grandson Caden of Afton; daughter, Danielle Price of Pella; Father, Ron Piel of Creston; Brother, Rick (wife Jeanne) Piel of Creston; Sister, Rhonda Campbell of Creston; Sister, Terri (husband Doug) White of Rockland, WI; Nephews: Chris Piel, Jacob White, and Jeremiah White; Nieces: Casee (husband Ben, and sons Cooper Conner) Veren, Regan Campbell, and Jessi White; Aunt Ardis Skartvedt of Radcliffe; Uncle Ron (wife Betty) Fosse of Ames; and many cousins.
Di is also survived by her Father-in-law, Wayne Price of Ocala, FL; Sisters-in-law: Judy (husband Dave) Gittens of Harrisonburg, VA; Mary (husband Randy) Morgan of Lansing, MI; Leah (husband Gary) Mix of Ocala, FL; Pamela Price of Savannah, GA; and Linda Benninger of Endicott, NY; Brother-in-law Paul (wife Tammy) Price of Roulette, PA; along with 18 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews, 2 great-great nieces and nephews, many cousins.
Preceding Diana in death were her mother, Marlene; mother-in-law, Elma Price; her Uncles Hollis and Bob Fosse; Uncle Murrel Skartvedt; her cousin Mary Jo Thorn; niece Mildred Gittens; and her grandparents, Alfred and Clarice Fosse and Lawrence and Elsie Piel.
