Diane Ernst

Diane Ernst, 66, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.  Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1107 Broad Street, Adair, Iowa, with Pastor Kyle Fever, officiating.  Family will receive friends 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., Friday, October 16, 2020, at the church. Burial will be at a later date at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa.    Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.  Memories may be shared at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.
Diane Mae Ernst, the daughter of Richard and Arlene (Hagen) Reynolds, was born June 22, 1954, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  She graduated from Adair-Casey High School with the Class of 1972.  Diane was united in marriage to Michael Oscar Ernst on June 9, 1972, in Adair, Iowa.  Three children were born to bless this union: Mike, Marc, and Mitch.
Diane’s worked at various places throughout her life including: Plowman Trenching; Sears; Wells Fargo; Schafer Systems; 4 Sons; Morehouse; RLK Leasing; Jacobsen; Farm Bureau; ADS; Kum and Go; White Oaks; and most recently Moe’s Mart.
She found joy in many  things including:  Going to the Casino; an interest in trucking which resulted in her obtaining her CDL from DMACC Transportation Institute; garage sales; and jig-saw puzzles; Diane was a very giving person and she would use her sewing and knitting skills to make and donate hats and masks.  Above all, her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Diane was member of the Adair Fire Department, where she served as an EMT and Dispatcher; the Stuart Legion Auxiliary, and the Anita Legion Auxiliary.  She was a member of the former Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adair, and currently the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Adair.
Left to cherish Diane’s memory are her husband; Mike Ernst; children: Mike Ernst and friend Amy; Marc Ernst and wife Paula; Mitch Ernst and wife Christi; grandchildren: Brad, Mariah; Devon; Joe; Natalee; Dakota; Hunter; Ahraya; Austin; Jonathon and Alex; great-granddaughter: Nevaeh Ernst, with another baby girl coming in February; stepmom: Marlene Reynolds; brothers: Ken Reynolds and wife Jackie; Jim Reynolds and wife Sharon; Alan Reynolds; brothers-in-law: Jim  Ernst and wife Marcella; David Chambers; sister-in-law: Cheryl Peterson and husband George; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Diane in death were her parents: Richard and Arlene Reynolds; parents-in-law: Oscar and Helen Ernst; Margaret and Zene Chambers; brothers-in-law: Dan and Daryl Chambers; sister-in-law: Kim Chambers; nephew: Brian Chambers.
