Donald Rasmussen

Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery with Military Honors by Theodore J. Martens Post #1797. Memorials may be directed to the Greater Regional Hospice.
Donald Morris Rasmussen, the son of Axel Marinus and Elsie Pearl (Collier) Rasmussen, was born on July 30, 1920, at Beaconsfield, in Ringgold County, Iowa. Donald entered eternal rest on February 26, 2007, at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-six years, six months, and twenty-nine days.
Donald lived in Union County and Creston most of his life. He graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1938. Donald served in the United States Navy during World War II from June, 1942 until October, 1945.
On October 9, 1948, Donald married Kathryn Vivian Weber at Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two daughters: Donna and Debbie.
Donald began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad on July 5, 1941. He retired as a conductor on July 30, 1982.
Donald was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Creston. He was also a member of the First Christian Church.
Preceding Donald in death were his parents. Donald is survived by his wife: Kathryn Rasmussen, Creston; his daughters: Donna (husband Dick) Crayne, Waverly, IA and Debbie Feldhacker (friend Marty Williams), Creston; Six Grandchildren: Heather Rogers, Clint Veatch, Robyn Woods, Ryan Feldhacker, Alicia Lovell, Abby Feldhacker; Five Great-Grandchildren: Madison and Clinton Jackson Veatch; Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Gabriel Lovell; several cousins, other relatives and many friends.
