Donna Marie Donner

Donna Marie Donner, 70, of Afton, Iowa died Tuesday, January 31, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. Graveside Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 4, at the Lorimor Cemetery, Lorimor, Iowa. The family will be gathering at the Lorimor Community Center following the graveside service. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice in Donna’s name. Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston is in charge of arrangements. Donna Marie Donner, the daughter of Nolan and Doris Irene (Landers) Huntsman, was born on April 28, 1941, at home south of Thayer in Union County, Iowa. Donna graduated from Thayer High School with the Class of 1959. In 1960, she married Donald Donner and together they moved to Biloxi, Mississippi. Later they lived in Oklahoma City; and several other places until relocating to Ottumwa. They lived in Ottumwa for twenty-five years, raising their three children. Donna moved to Afton following Don’s passing in 1986.
Donna worked as a Real Estate Agent in Ottumwa for more than ten years. She also worked for both Heat Tech and Winnebago for nearly eight years and has been retired the last eleven years. Donna was a member of the Thayer Alumni. She also participated in bowling leagues, JayCees, PTA, and loved to square dance while living in Ottumwa.
Left to cherish Donna’s memory are her children: Cindy (Rory) Welcher, Elkhart, Iowa; Scott (Sandy) Donner, Afton; and Troy (Marcy) Donner, Creston; Seven Grandchildren; Three Great-Grandchildren; her mother: Doris Baker, Afton; her sisters: Carol Wise, Creston; Nola (Earl) Vorrath, Adair; Bonnie Perdue, Thayer; and Patty (Mike) Rollings, Shannon City; and her sister-in-law: Martha Kirk, Decorah. She is also survived by her long-time friend, Sonny King, Afton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Donna in death were her father, Nolan; and her husband, Don.
