Doris M. Pashek, 95, of Creston, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St. in Creston. Rev. Mary O’Riley will officiate. Public viewing will be Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the funeral home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Doris will be laid to rest in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Prescott, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Doris Maxine Pashek was born November 1, 1924 in “Dog Holler”, Adams County, Iowa. Doris was the 4th of 9 children born to Thomas Harlow and Florence Mae (Ridnour) Haley. She was raised on the family farm and attended Country School in Adams County. Doris was united in marriage on December 12, 1945, at age 21, to Arthur Michael Pashek in Salina, Kansas. Art and Doris were blessed with 3 sons: Robert, Kenneth and Michael. Doris was a devoted mother and homemaker and worked side by side with Art on the entire farm operation. As a farm wife, she helped with the chores required to raise cattle, hogs and chickens and to grow the row crop and pasture land. Doris and Art were married nearly 59 years, until Art passed away on October 26, 2004. Doris remained on the farm in Adams County the remainder of her life and was a life-long resident of Adams County.
Doris was a former member of the Nevinville Methodist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. She also volunteered her time serving as a former member of the Williamson American Legion Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding Doris in death was her husband Art; her parents; and her 8 siblings: Delmar Haley, Fern Mitchell, Esther Travis, Calvin Haley, Leota Ambrose, Darlene Palmer, James “Jim” Haley and Clyde Haley.
Doris is survived by her 3 sons: Robert (Billy Mann) Pashek of Council Bluffs, IA, Kenneth (Rebecca) Pashek of Van Meter, IA and Michael Pashek of Orient, IA; her 6 grandchildren: Shane Pashek, Amy Sacker, Stephanie Eason, Samantha Grove, Kellie Clemen and Mitch Pashek; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Joan Haley of Brooks, IA; multiple nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
