Dorothy “Dottie” Jane Lewis, the daughter of William John and Grace Emma (White) Enghauser, was born on August 6, 1932 in Creston, Iowa. Dottie entered eternal rest on March 24, 2009, at Greater Regional Medical Center, Creston, Iowa, at the age of seventy-six years, seven months, and eighteen days.
Dottie graduated from High School in California and began working for United Airlines. Dottie worked in the Reservation Department for 34 years. She began her career in California, then was transferred to Denver where she later retired. Dottie moved to Omaha, Nebraska, then returned to Creston about ten years ago.
Dottie was an active member of the United Airlines Retiree Association; a member of the First Christian Church; a member of a V.F.W. Club in Omaha; and belonged to the Lady Elks in Creston. Dottie travelled extensively. Her favorite places were Hawaii and Australia. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Denver Broncos.
Left to cherish Dotties memory are her sisters: Midge Scurlock, Creston; and Lynnda (husband Ben) Shields, Hemet, CA; her brothers: Bob Enghauser, Carleton, NE and Charlie (wife Joyce) Enghauser, Nevarre, FL; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Dottie in death were her parents, and two brothers-in-law: Ray Scurlock and Bill Sears.
