Drexel Schrodt

February 7, 1922 — May 12, 2010

Clarence Drexel Schrodt, the son of Clarence B. Jim and Elsie M. (Bross) Schrodt, was born on February 7, 1922, in Adams County, near Prescott, Iowa. Drexel entered eternal rest on May 12, 2010, at the Afton Care Center, Afton, Iowa, at the age of eighty-eight years, three months, and four days.
Drexel grew up in the Cromwell area and attended high school in Cromwell. He also lived in Kansas City and Omaha. On March 6, 1944, Drexel married Lucille Marie Johnston in St. Paul, Minnesota. This union was blessed with two daughters and they raised their children in Cromwell. Drexel and Lucille have lived in Afton for twenty-five years.
Drexel worked for Burlington-Northern Truck Line as a truck driver for over thirty-five years. He farmed in Union County for several years. Drexel was a member of the Teamsters Union and a member of the Cromwell Congregational United Church of Christ.
Left to cherish Drexels memory are his wife, Lucille Schrodt, Afton; his daughters: Sharon (Fred) Abell, Cromwell; and Cindy (Mike) Potts, Creston; his five grandchildren: Scott (Mendy) Abell; Ann Abell; Carrie (Steve) Kleckner; Kate (Dan) Cassill; R.J. (Kristi) Potts; his eight great-grandchildren; his brother: Francis Schrodt, Pinnellas Park, Florida; his sisters: Geraldine (Carroll) Strader, Reedley, California; and Thelma Luddington, Creston; his brother-in-law: Bob Kruse, Cozad, Nebraska; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Drexel in death were his Parents; his brother, Ronald Schrodt; his sister, Ruth Kruse; his two sisters-in-law: Betty and Evelyn Schrodt; and his two brothers-in-law: Leo Luddington and Earl Dibel.
