Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with Military Honors by Theodore J. Martens VFW Post #1797. Memorials may be made in Duanes name to be decided at a later date.
Duane Lee Neely, the son of Ronald Gene and Donna Jean (McFee) Neely, was born on October 14, 1955, at Primghar, Iowa in OBrien County near Sioux City. Duane entered eternal rest on October 4, 2009, at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of fifty-three years, eleven months and twenty-two days.
Duane graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1973. During high school, Duane helped his dad on the farm. Following his high school graduation, Duane moved to Phoenix in 1977. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 10, 1977 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1980. He returned to Phoenix following his discharge. He lived in Winston, Oregon from 1987-2007, and then moved to Las Vegas two years ago. Duane was a licensed plumber. He was Chief Maintenance Supervisor at the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Duane was a boy scout during his younger days. He loved to play pool and traveled to many tournaments. He also enjoyed playing Black Jack at the casino; and loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
Left to cherish Duanes memory are his parents: Ron and Donna Neely, Creston; his son: Joshua Miller, San Francisco, CA; his sister: Rhonda (husband Gary) Gelhaye, Waconia, MN; his niece: Amanda (husband Mike) Hill, Crystal, MN; his nephew: Travis Gelhaye, Waconia, MN; his Great-Nephew: Gage Hill, Crystal, MN; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding Duane in death were his Grandparents: Elvis and Marie Neely, and Bruce and Fern McFee; and his nephew, Justin Neely-Gelhaye.
