He served three years in Japan before returning home to South Carolina. He then went to Washington, DC to work as a radio Disc Jockey. While there, he met country music star, Roy Clark and they became life-long friends. From this friendship, Tommy’s passion for music inspired him to teach himself how to play the Steel Guitar.
