Eileen Jensen

April 26, 1922 — July 23, 2012

Eileen Avis (Kuesel) Jensen was born at her home in Victoria Township in Cass County, Iowa, on April 26, 1922. Her parents were Frank and Alice Kuesel. At the age of 90 years, Eileen went home to meet her Savior on July 23, 2012. She was a resident at the Winterset Care Center South for the past two years.
Eileen attended elementary school in a one-room school house in Cass County and graduated from Griswold High School in normal training to prepare to receive a teaching certificate in order to be a school teacher. She taught for one year in a home school in Adams County and four years at the DeVore School in Cass County.
Eileen married Floyd Jensen on May 24, 1945, at the Kuesel home in Cass County, Iowa. Shortly after their marriage, Floyd and Eileen both accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The Lord blessed their union with three children: Gary, Marleen and Karla. Floyd and Eileen lived on a farm in Massena for 28 years. In 1973, Floyd and Eileen moved to Corning, Iowa. After Floyds homegoing, Eileen moved to the Des Moines area.
Eileen was a faithful homemaker as she helped raise and provide for the needs of her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilt making for her grandchildren, cooking and baking her famous dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls. Eileen always had a large garden and loved mowing the grass on their farm. Floyd and Eileen attended Grace Baptist Church in Corning, Iowa. Eileen exercised her gift of hospitality as their home was always open to missionaries and guest speakers. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and participating in Vacation Bible School. She was a faithful prayer warrior for her Church and family.
Floyd and Eileens son Gary married Loretta Sawhill in 1971. They have two children: Scott and Shawn. Marleen married Jerry Kramer in 1972. They have three children: Kurt, Kristi and Kenton. Karla married Ben Pegram in 1973. They have four children, Kathy, Angela, Susan and Karen.
Eileen was proceded in death by her parents: Frank and Alice Kuesel; her husband, Floyd Jensen; brother, Karl Kuesel and sister, Ruth Moore.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister-in-law, Louise McLaren of Griswold, Iowa; one son, Gary (Loretta) Jensen of Winterset, Iowa; two daughters: Marleen (Jerry) Kramer of Covington, Georgia and Karla (Ben) Pegram of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; her nine surviving grandchildren: Scott and Shawn Jensen of Lexington, Kentucky, Kurt Kramer of Catalina, Arizona, Kristi Yefremov of Hampton, Georgia, Kenton Kramer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Kathy Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa, Angela Lundberg of Ankeny, Iowa, Susan Nemmers of Polk City, Iowa and Karen Eddy of Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Eileen was also blessed with twenty great-grandchildren.
The family of Eileen Jensen wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for all the acts of kindness shown to them in this time of bereavement. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Grace Baptist Church in Corning, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The family invites you to share in a lunch provided by the Grace Baptist Church following the service.
