Eleanor Stueckradt

Eleanor Ruth Stueckradt passed away on July 4, 2021, in Corning, Iowa. Her funeral service will be held Monday, July 12, at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center in Corning, Iowa. A luncheon will follow at the United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 3-7:00 PM, at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center with family visitation from 5-7:00 PM.

Eleanor was born on January 13, 1942, at home in Corning to Lola (Schafer) and Glen Vogel.
Her family moved to rural Lenox, Iowa, where she grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Lenox High School in 1959, and attended college in Maryville, MO. Eleanor worked at the Okey-Vernon Bank in Corning, where she met her husband of 57 years, Steven Glen Stueckradt. They married on March 15, 1964, and together raised their family in Corning. Eleanor spent her time at home raising their three sons, and worked alongside Steve at Home Bakery in Corning. She decorated many beautiful wedding, birthday, and graduation cakes for the community. Steve and Eleanor later opened Breadeaux Pisa restaurants in Boonville, MO, Red Oak, IA and Corning.

Eleanor was involved with the United Methodist Women and she was a counselor with Methodist Youth Fellowship and accompanied groups on mission trips. She enjoyed music, played coronet in high school band, and was involved in 4-H in her youth. She was an active member of the CHS Band Boosters.

First and foremost, Eleanor loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved camping, boating, and traveling. She enjoyed many trips with family and friends to Colorado, California, Florida, and Branson, MO. If not working or traveling she could be found spending time at the Lake of The Ozarks.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Lola and Glen Vogel, and brother, Galen (Elaine) Vogel. Left to cherish Eleanor are her husband, Steve, and their three sons: Paul (Adonna) Stueckradt, of Ankeny, Iowa, Mike (Ann) Stueckradt of Ames, Iowa, and Scott Stueckradt (Patty Brown) of Ankeny, grandchildren: Megan & Matthew (Ankeny) and Benjamin (Ames) Stueckradt, sister, Marilyn (Vogel) Beck, of Lenox, and brother, Hugh (Sherri) Vogel, of Lenox, sisters-in-law Elaine Vogel, of Huntington Beach and Sandra Rhamy-Thomas (Ray Thomas) of Corning, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
