Elizabeth J. Green

Elizabeth Josephine (Tatro) Green, was born January 1, 1930, at Willowdale, Kansas, to Henry Walter Tatro and Catherine Rhodantha (Schonlau) Tatro. She died April 14, 2006 at her home in Corning at the age of seventy-six years, three months and thirteen days.
Elizabeth married Levi Everett Green on July 21, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at South Mound, Kansas. Mrs. Green was a homemaker and helped her husband Levi with the farming and milking. They farmed near Erie, Kansas until March 1956, when they purchased a farm northwest of Carbon, Iowa. In 1974, they purchased a farm northeast of Prescott and farmed until 1987 when they sold the Prescott farm and moved to Corning. In 1995, they return to the farm at Carbon. In January 1999, they retired from farming and moved back to Corning. She loved to raise chickens while on the farm. Her greatest joy was her family and Sunday dinners with them.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Levi of Corning; daugther: Anne Gard of Corning; sons: Walter of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Bill, wife Donna, of Wasilla, Alaska; John, wife Karma, of Corning; Jim, wife Karen, of Bedford, Iowa; David, friend Amy, of Columbia, Missouri; daughter, Nancy, husband Delbert, Heim of Lenox, Iowa; 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sisters: Pauline Strand of Abilene, Kansas and Patricia Kasha of Villisca, Iowa; a brother: Mark, wife Betty, of Villisca, Iowa; sister-in-law: Opal Click of Mesa, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Elizabeth in death were her parents, son-in-law, Leo Gard; Brothers, Jerry Bill; half-sisters, Catherine Von Dracek and Mary Williams; half-brothers, Ivo and Gene Click; brothers-in-law, Ralph Strand and V. J. Kasha.
