Elsie E. Cramer

Elsie Eileen Cramer, the daughter of Royal Delano and Sarah Elizabeth (Garner) Scott, was born on April 25, 1907, on a farm near Bridgewater, in Adair County, Iowa. Elsie entered eternal rest on August 31, 2007, at the Afton Care Center, in Afton, Iowa, at the age of one hundred years, four months, and eight days.
Elsie was from a family of twelve children; ten survived including five sisters and four brothers. She grew up on a farm and loved to ride horses with her brothers including riding a horse to school everyday. Elsie attended school in Bridgewater and Corning.
On January 28, 1925, Elsie married Johnnie Willis Cramer, at Corning, Iowa. Johnnie passed away in September, 1980.
Elsie was a homemaker and loved to garden, can and cook. She also raised and dressed chickens and turkeys. Elsie and Johnnie owned and operated the Maid-Rite Cafe in Creston. Elsie was known for her home-made pies. Elsie and Johnnie also loved to travel.
Elsie played piano by ear and her family enjoyed her music. She also loved to play cards and dominos and played very recently. Elsie celebrated her 100th birthday on April 28, 2007, with many of her friends and family in attendance. Following the celebration, she received approximately 200 cards and she read them all.
Left to mourn Elsies passing are her four daughters: Darlene (husband Kenneth) Abel, Creston; Delvian Sias Padellford, Centerville, IA; Opal Moffitt, Thayer, IA; and Delores (husband Gail) James, Bismarck, ND; twenty grandchildren: Dennis (Carolyn) Abel; Douglas (Amanda) Abel; Sharon Moffitt: David Sias: Kay (Bill) Smith; Dianna (Steve) Schieffer; Randy (Jeannie) Sias; Ronald (Peggy) Moffitt; Edward (Norma) Moffitt; Jeffrey (Chris) Abel; Mark (Cheryl) James; Mary (Doug) Bradford; Marty (Penny) Sias; Chuck (Jennifer) Abel; Laura (Bill) Jensen; Debbie (Bill) Rutledge; Linda James (Steve Johnson); Susan (Mike) Weber; Dawna Clayton; Carol (Jim) Mix; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her Parents; her Husband, Johnnie; Two Sons-In-Law: Ray Padellford and Jim Moffitt; One Grandson: Mike Abel; Two Great-Grandchildren: Rochelle and Danny Roberts; and four brothers and five sisters.
