Esther Lauer

Esther Lucille Lauer, the daughter of Joshua J. and Bertha Maggie (Platt) Edwards, was born on February 16, 1931, in Carnduff, Saskatchewan, Canada. Esther entered eternal rest on December 30, 2011, at the Winterset Care Center North, Winterset, Iowa, at the age of eighty years, ten months, and fourteen days.
Esther lived in the Macksburg and Zion community almost sixty years. She graduated from the Macksburg High School with the Class of 1948. On December 31, 1948 she married Deloyte Lauer in rural Macksburg. Two daughters blessed this union, Kathy and Carla.
Esther was a homemaker and a member of the Hill of Zion Church. She has lived in Winterset for the past six years.
Left to cherish Esthers memory are her daughters: Kathy (husband Steve) Sullivan, Pleasant Hill, Iowa; and Carla (husband Brent) Walker, Norwalk, Iowa; her granddaughter: Krista Walker, Norwalk, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Esther in death were her parents; her husband Deloyte Lauer in 2006; two sisters; and three brothers.
