Fern Rodman

Fern Leona Rodman, the daughter of Agnes Laura Kilgore and Ernest Joseph Kester was born on August 24, 1927 in Orient, Iowa. Fern entered eternal rest on Monday, April 10, 2006 at Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of seventy-eight years, seven months and seventeen days.
She graduated from Corning High School with the class of 1945. On August 15, 1947, Fern Leona Kester and Harold Bert Rodman were united in marriage. To this union two children were born, Cindy and Rick.
Fern was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a secretary for the Omaha Public Schools for many years, retiring in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronald and Glen; sister, Violet Marie; and sister-in-law, Wilma Kester.
Fern is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold “Jack” Rodman of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter Cindy Karasek and husband Bob of Elkhorn, Nebraska; son Rick Rodman and wife Karen of Omaha, Nebraska; four grandchildren: Cheri Karasek, Shanda Karasek, Jared Rodman, and Annette Rodman (fiancee J. P. Plucknett); two brothers: Ralph Kester and wife Nita of Bridgewater, Iowa and Dean Kester and wife Leona of Corning, Iowa.
