Frank Tallmon

Burial will be at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Corning with military honors from American Legion OURCQ Post #0117.
Frank Lee Tallmon was born in Blue Mound, Kansas, November 1, 1910 to parents, Robert and Elizabeth (Costin) Tallmon. Frank entered eternal rest on Monday, August 4, 2008 at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa at the age of ninety-seven years, nine months and four days.
Frank moved as a young boy from Kansas to Adams County, near Mercer Center. He lived in the Adams County area all of his life, graduating from Prescott High School. After graduation, Frank enlisted in the US Army, serving in WWII from June 1942 to August 1945. Upon Franks discharge he was united in marriage to Thelma Faye Miller on June 2, 1946 at the Presbyterian Church in Corning, Iowa. To this blessed union two children were born: Elaine and John.
Frank was a farmer and farmed the same land for over 62 years.
He was a member of the Cromwell Congregational Church before transferring to the First Christian Church of Creston. Frank was also a Mason and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Left to cherish Franks memory is his wife, Thelma Faye of Creston, IA; daughter: Elaine Young-Myers of Longview, WA; son: John (Mary) Tallmon of Clatskanie, OR; granddaughter: Doran Myers of Longview, WA; grandsons: Christopher (Michele) Young of Maple Valley, WA, Brandon (Sandy) Young of Edmonds, WA, Milan Tallmon and Ryan Tallmon both of Clatskanie, OR; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Bonnie Tallmon of Creston, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special friends: Tom and Tracey Gray - Frank was very fond of Tom and Traceys family.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; two brothers: George and Ralph Tallmon; sister: Margaret Walter; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Catherine Miller.
