Galyn S. Mcintire

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 3:00pm at the Forrest Hill Cemetery, Mt. Etna, Iowa in Rural Adams County. Memorials may be directed to the family in Galyns name.
Galyn Stanley McIntire, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Effie Syvilla (Dotson) McIntire, was born on July 22, 1940, at Carbon, Iowa. Galyn entered eternal rest on March 10, 2008 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of sixty-seven years, seven months and nineteen days.
Galyn graduated from Corning High School with the class of 1960. He married Dolores Eileen Scott on December 30, 1960 at the Church of the Brethen in Mt Etna. Galyn has lived in Adams County all of his life until he and Dolores moved to Creston two years ago. Galyn was a surveyor for the State of Iowa Department of Soil Conservation for thirty years, retiring in 1998.
Galyn was formerly the Vice-President of the State of Iowa Workers Union for Southwest Iowa. He loved to visit with his family and friends. He enjoyed Nascar racing, go-karting and camping. He was a very good wood-worker and was very particular with his work.
Left to cherish Galyns memory are his wife, Dolores McIntire, Creston; his daughters: Barbara Ann McIntire, Sedona, AZ (significant other, Chris Locher); and Sharon Arlene McIntire, Kansas City, KS (significant other, Steve Roussert); Two Grandchildren: Nicholas and Alex; his Sister: Valora (husband Merl) Jackson, Corning; his Mother-In-Law: Lois Scott, Dallas Center, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Galyn in death were his parents; his Brother: Merlyn McIntire; and his father-in-law: Hawley Scott.
