Gerald Ray Griffith

Gerald Raymond Ray Griffith, the son of David Wesley and Mary Nedra (Navin) Griffith, was born on October 3, 1939, in Melrose, Iowa. Ray entered eternal rest on May 3, 2010, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home, in Creston, Iowa, at the age of seventy years, six months, and thirty-one days.
Ray graduated from Dowling High School with the Class of 1958. On July 16, 1960, he married Janice Marie Truman in Des Moines. They lived in Des Moines and Ankeny before moving to Prescott in 1974 to farm. Ray worked for John Deere in Ankeny for sixteen years.
Ray was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a member of the Happy Hollow Country Club.
Left to cherish Rays memory are his wife, Jan Griffith, Prescott; his children: Scott (Jolene) Griffith, Prescott; Stacie (Kurt) Nelson, Omaha, Nebraska; Cindy (Karl) Reineke, Kansas City, Missouri; and Steve (Varanee) Griffith, Shawnee, Kansas; his nine grandchildren: Rachel and Mallory Griffith; Zach and Tori Nelson; Reece and Grace Reineke; Kitikarn, Victoria, and Truman Griffith; his brothers: Tom (Marsha) Griffith, West Des Moines, Iowa; and Chuck (Judi) Griffith, Smithville, Missouri; his sisters: Rita Talarico, Norwalk, Iowa; Sandi (George) Davis, Des Moines, Iowa; and MaryAnn Sevald, Ankeny, Iowa; and his sister-in-law: Renee Griffith, Rockford, Illinois.
Preceding Ray in death were his parents; his granddaughter, Tara Rae Nelson; his brothers: Darrell and Jack Griffith; his sister, Colleen Kiefer; and his brothers-in-law: Ernie Talarico, II, and Al Sevald.
Memorials may be directed to Greater Regional Hospice Home and/or Susan G. Komen Foundation.
