Glenn Hardisty

September 17, 1924 — August 2, 2012

Glenn Louis Hardisty, son of Edward Bryan and Maggie Mae (Burgett) Hardisty, was born the second of five children on September 17, 1924 in Quincy Township near Carbon in Adams County, Iowa. Glenn entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston, Iowa at the age of eighty-seven years, ten months and sixteen days.
On January 1, 1947, Glenn was united in marriage to Anna Ruth Cooley and eight children were born to bless this union: Eugene, Linda, Judy, Earl, Irene, Wayne, Joyce and Lyle.
Glenn farmed both livestock and row crop since the age of fifteen. He purchased the first farm in Carl Township and actively farmed until 2012. Glenn lived all but two years in Adams County.
Glenns passion in life was natural preservation and land improvement. He was always maintaining the native flowers and habitat.
Left to cherish Glenns memory is his wife, Anna Ruth Hardisty of Prescott, IA; children: Eugene “Gene” Hardisty of Bondurant, IA, Linda Jane (Steve) Page of Prescott, IA, Judy (Bruce) Jones of Creston, IA, Earl (Sharan) Hardisty of Sac City, IA, Irene Hardisty and husband Jim Bishop of Des Moines, IA, Wayne (Marlene) Hardisty of Corning, IA , Joyce (Wayne) Lee of Corning, IA and Lyle (April) Hardisty of Pearland, TX; thirty grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Wilma Peterson of Corning, IA, Wanda (Wayne) Victor of Prescott, IA, Donna Adams of Omaha, NE; sisters-in-law: Lois Hardisty of Afton, IA and Mary Lou Cooley-Hechmer of Corning, IA and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Hardisty; brothers-in-law: Clark Peterson, Dean Adams, LeRoy Blazek, Gene Cooley, Jesse Bowen, George Newman; sister-in-law, Emma (Cooley) Bowen Newman; daughter-in-law, Joyce (Sackett-Newton) Hardisty; two great-grandchildren: Tilah Page and Ricky Morehouse III; father-in-law: Harold E. Cooley, Sr. and three mothers-in-law: Ruth J., Mattie J. and Bertha I. Cooley.
