Harold Kingery

Harold Keith Kingery, the son of Roy J. and Ruby Gladys (Nauman) Kingery, was born on May 21, 1929, on the family farm near Afton, Iowa. Harold entered eternal rest on November 19, 2009, at the Afton Care Center, Afton, Iowa, at the age of eighty years, six months and one day.
Harold attended Afton School and graduated from Afton High School with the Class of 1947. On June 8, 1947, he married Luella Mae Thompson at Des Moines, Iowa.
Harold lived on a farm south of Afton in Union County all his life. He was a dairy farmer and farmed along with his son, Martin and his wife, Luella. As a young man, Harold worked as a stock boy in the Afton Grocery Store. Harold was a 4-H Leader as a young parent; he was a long-time member of the Mid-American Dairy Association; and he received the Iowa Conservation Award.
Left to cherish Harolds memory are his children: Linda (husband Jim) Lewis, Ankeny; Connie (husband Les) Schreurs, Afton; Duane (wife Diane) Kingery, Eagle Grove, IA; Daughter-in-Law: Deb Kingery, Afton; Eight Grandchildren: Alicia (husband Luke) McConeghey, Matthew (wife Nicole) Lewis, Shawn (wife Rosie) Miller, Angela Miller, Heather (husband Scott) Cook, Rachel Kingery, Caleb (wife Ashleie) Kingery; Abigail Kingery; Seven Great-Grandchildren: Bryson and Logan McConeghey; Clayton and Taylor Miller; Harry and Haydn Walters; and Dylan Cook; Brother: Darrell (wife Helen) Kingery, Creston; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Harold in death were his parents; his Wife, Luella, in 2008; and his Son, Martin Kingery, in 2009.
