Harriett Hartsook

April 29, 1933 — March 30, 2016

Harriett Colleen Hartsook, the daughter of Harry C. and Frieda (Wall) Schoenhair, was born on April 29, 1933, in Clearfield, Iowa. Harriett entered eternal rest on March 30, 2016 at Mercy Hospice House, Johnston, Iowa at the age of eighty-two years.
Harriett graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1951. On June 1, 1951, she married Dean R. Hartsook at the Methodist Church in Afton.
Harriett was a homemaker and a caretaker at Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton, IA. After Dean passed away in 2009, Harriett volunteered at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. She had a hobby for collecting Fenton Glass, Porcelain Dolls and Beanie Babies. Dean and Harriett moved to Afton in 1983 and then moved to Creston in 2005. In 2010, Harriett moved to the Des Moines Area to be near family.
Left to cherish Harriett’s memory are her children: David (Joyce) Hartsook, Branson, Missouri; Barbara Daniel, Fairbanks, Alaska; Nancy (Don) Wood, Ft. Worth, Texas; and Tony (Londa) Hartsook, Des Moines, Iowa; five Grandchildren: Christopher (wife Jacque) of Grimes, Iowa; Chad of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; Melissa of Coleman, Texas; Jenny of Fairbanks, Alaska; and Hunter of Des Moines, Iowa; ten Great-Grandchildren Isaac, Charlie and Baylee of Grimes, Iowa; Michaela and Aurora of Fairbanks, Alaska; and Cooper, Saul, Elijah, Gabby, and Juan of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Preceding Harriett in death were her parents and husband.
