Helen Cooper Quinn was born to Carlton Logan Cooper and Bulah Eva French Cooper on February 21, 1923 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She was a 1940 graduate of Carbon High School. She received her Teaching Certificate and went on to graduate from NW Missouri State with a Bachelors Degree in Education.
She married Paul William “Bill” Quinn in 1942, in Adams County, Iowa. They had four children to bless that union.
Helen was a teacher in rural schools for most of her career. Later, taught in the Corning Public Schools until retirement.
In 1996 she was nominated by one of her students and included in “Whos Who Among Americas Teachers. The Best Teachers in America selected by the Best Students.” She was a member of the National Education Association, Iowa State Education Association, Business Professional Womens Organization and Delta Kappa Gamma. Her faith family was the people at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Corning.
Helen is survived by her four children: Paul (wife Catherine) Quinn, Falls Church, Virginia, Michael (wife Joyce) Quinn, Aylett, Virginia, Patrick (wife Nancy) Quinn, Des Moines, Iowa, Barbara Quinn, Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Barb (husband George) Law, Corning, Iowa, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, treasured friend and companion, Olin Lovig, Villisca, Iowa, eight grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family of Helen Cooper Quinn to be distributed to Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning /or Corning Public Schools.
