Helen L. Clem

Private Family Inurnment will be held Saturday at the Graceland Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church and/or South Central Special Olympics.
Helen L. Clem was born to Pearl (Culver) and Joseph Robert Mudra on June 1, 1925, in Creston, Iowa. Helen entered eternal rest on December 19, 2006, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-one years, six months, and twenty days.
Helen lived all of her life in the Creston area. On April 13, 1942, she married Robert Everett Clem in Kahoka, Missouri. Helen worked as a nurse aide until earning her LPN degree. She received her LPN degree at Southwestern Community College. Helen worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the O.B. Department at Greater Community Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Dallas York at the Creston Medical Clinic.
Helen was an active member of the First Christian Church, where she belonged to the Rachel Circle, and held positions of Secretary and Treasurer for more than five years. Helen was a member of the Southside Boosters for many years.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents. Left to mourn Helens passing are her husband: Robert “Bob” Clem, Creston; her children: Mike (Judy) Clem, Rockport, TX; David (Carolyn) Clem, Livermore, IA; Donna (Mike) Zotz, Afton; Paula (Randy) White, Creston; Eleven Grandchildren; and nineteen Great-Grandchildren; her sister-in-law: Dorothy Hyatt, Keokuk, IA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
