Imogene Miller

July 16, 1916 — May 2, 2011

Nora “ Imogene “ Miller, daughter of Perry James and Nora Elizabeth (Mason) Reynolds, was born on July 16, 1916 in Carbon, Iowa. Imogene entered eternal rest on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Lenox Care Center in Lenox, Iowa at the age of ninety-four years, nine months and sixteen days.
As the eighth child of eleven, Imogene grew up in Nodaway and graduated from Nodaway High School. Following high school, Imogene was united in marriage to Glen A. Miller of Corning on June 6, 1937 at the Parsonage in Nodaway, Iowa. Two children were born to bless this union: Larry and Linda.
The couple made their home in rural Corning where Imogene obtained her Nurses Aide Certificate. She worked for Rosary Hospital and Colonial Manor for twelve years. The remainder of her life she spent as a homemaker. The couple enjoyed camping and wintering in Florida for many years. Imogene supported Glen and his endeavors for several years while Glen owned the Chevrolet dealership in Corning.
Imogene was a member of the Happy Hollow Country Club, Avid Square Dancers and First Presbyterian Church in Corning. Throughout the years Imogene volunteered at the Thrift Shop, the Red Cross Blood Bank and Rosary Hospital.
Left to cherish Imogene’s memory are her children: son, Larry Miller (Annabelle Wood) of Corning, IA; daughter, Linda Miller and special friend, Claudette Clunan of Marshfield, MA; final surviving sister-in-law, Marjorie Reynolds of Lenox, IA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen in 1999; granddaughter, Kim Lewis; special friend, Dick Cook in 2011; daughter-in-law, Donna Miller in 2000; six brothers and four sisters.
