Inez Reece

Inez Faye Reece was born to Laura Mae (Ruby) and Otis Nelty Perkins on January 31, 1921, at Knowlton, near Diagonal, Iowa. Inez entered eternal rest on September 12, 2005, at Creston Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of eighty-four years, seven months, and twelve days.
On June 5, 1940, Inez married Howard William Reece at Diagonal, Iowa.
Inez was a certified operating room technician and worked at Greater Community Hospital for thirty-four years. She received her technical training on the job with Dr. Kuhl and Dr. Hoyt. Inez also worked as a cook at St. Malachy School for six years, as a cook at the Creston Meal Site for two and one half years and as a greeter at Walmart for six years.
Inez was a Gold Star Mother; Past President of the V.F.W. Auxiliary; Member of the Methodist Church at Shannon City; Past President of the Womens Society of the Methodist Church at Shannon City. Inez later transferred membership to St. Johns United Church of Christ.
Left to mourn Inezs passing are her daughter: Marilyn (Lanny) Gray, Athens, GA; two sons: Marion (Shirley) Reece, Udall, KS; Kenneth (Ellen) Reece, Creston; eight Grandchildren; twelve Great-Grandchildren; Sister-in-law: Mae Perkins, Grimes, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Inez in death were her parents; husband Howard in 1982; son: Wayne Reece in 1967; daughter: Patricia as an infant in 1943; seven sisters: Alice Viola Sorenson, Mettie Chew, Maisel Russell, Bernice Perkins, Vildren Woods, Carmel Akers, Golda Herbel; and four brothers: Ray Perkins, Clay Perkins, Martin Perkins, Addie Perkins.
