Iva M. Lawrence

Burial will be at Lincoln Center Cemetery in rural Adams County, Iowa.
Iva Rodman Lawrence, daughter of Bert and Alta Timmons Rodman, was born December 3, 1922 in Adair County, Iowa. She entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 at Corning Nursing and Rehab Center in Corning, Iowa, at the age of 85 years.
She was a graduate of Carbon High School. After graduation, Iva married Carl Lawrence on November 2, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri. Two children were born to bless this union: Doug and Robert.
Carl and Iva owned and operated the M.B. Motel, The Lawrence House, and Lawrences Diner, throughout the years. Ivas hobby was her love for cooking. Friends and family could always count on her to provide a hot cup of coffee at her home. She was very fond of people, especially her great-grandchildren, Matt and Tommy.
Iva was a member of Quincy Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lawrence; infant son, Robert; granddaughter, Barbara Lawrence; grandson, Andy Lawrence.
Iva is survived by her son, Doug (wife Bev) Lawrence, Corning, Iowa; grandson, Kevin (wife Iola) Lawrence, Blair, Nebraska; great-grandsons: Matt and Tommy Lawrence; step-grandchildren: Angie Quist, Red Oak, Iowa, Amy Jessen, Red Oak, Iowa, Barb Jones, Elliot, Iowa; sister, Ruth Schaffer, Corning, Iowa; brothers: Jack Rodman, Omaha, Nebraska, Tom (wife Janiece) Rodman, California; sister-in-laws: Lois Rodman, Lenox, Iowa, Mary Lawrence (Jones), Stanberry, Missouri, Carmelita Lawrence, Villisca, Iowa; brother-in-law, Charlie Lawrence, Corning, Iowa
